Welcome to the blog
Why I'm starting this blog, what you'll find here, and how I'll keep it from becoming yet another thing to maintain.
I started this blog because I’ve been answering the same question over DM for years now: how did you end up working in product with your background. The answer is always long, full of nuance, and it disappears in a chat two weeks later.
So I decided to write it somewhere that stays put.
What you’ll find here
Short essays. Not a biweekly newsletter packed with tactical advice. Things I learned designing in production, mistakes that cost me projects, and observations about UX, design systems, and motion that are worth keeping on hand.
Three recurring topics:
- Design systems in production. Not how they look on Dribbble, but how they survive the first sprint.
- Motion as communication. How movement explains better than copy in many cases, and when it overstays.
- Pricing and the designer life. What nobody teaches you about how much to charge, when to negotiate, and how to say no.
What you won’t find
- Lists of “10 tools that will change your life.”
- Hot takes about Apple.
- Reviews of SaaS nobody asked for.
If a note helps you, drop 5 stars at the end. If not, tell me what’s missing and I’ll write it properly next time.
What’s next
I’ll publish one note a month, no more. If a month I don’t have anything worth reading, I don’t publish. Consistency doesn’t beat honesty.
Meanwhile, you can subscribe at the bottom of the blog to get new ones by email. Or keep using this site like before — it works fine without email.
Thanks for reading this far. See you in the next one.
